Tired of the Yard and Bake Sale? Try eBay!

Category : Info

Every so often I get the urge to say “Out with the old!!  In with the new!!” The problem used to be “What do I do with the old?” until eBay! Unlike the yard sale, which is becoming quite retro, eBay doesn’t require you to put everything in your front yard and barter with neighbors. And you can potentially make much more if you know how to sell on eBay.

Organized Cleanout

People who are reorganizing their lives for one or more reasons often turn to eBay.

These include folks who are moving, whether across the city or the country or from a larger to a smaller dwelling place, and have decided they don’t want to pack and move things they already aren’t using; people working with professional organizers to purge their homes and garages and offices of items that serve only to take up space; and those going through major life changes like divorce, the death of a loved one, or relocating an aging parent into a care facility.

They may also fall into the infrequent-user category, but they probably have many more items to dispose of, and might therefore be willing to invest a bit more time and effort for the chance to earn some income to offset their expenses.  In cases like this, eBay can be an invaluable tool, since it really doesn’t take a lot of effort to put together an attractive listing that will net them far more for their items than a moving sale (where buyers may try to take advantage of someone’s stated deadline by making very low offers to “take this off your hands”) or a PennySaver or Craig’s List.

If you are an infrequent eBay user, this is the perfect place to pick up some tips. You might even find it helpful to know these tips when you are buying on eBay.  It helps you appreciate the process and makes you a smart eBay bidder!!  And of course, if you have a lot to sell, you may want to consider taking an eBay class!

For more than a few years there has been an increasing need for Cheerleading Fundraising. Choosing the most beneficial Cheerleading Fundraising program isn’t always easy. It’s imperative to be sure that the fundraiser you choose will be successful for your area. There are things to consider when choosing a fundraiser including cost and potential profit. A bake sale is a great choice for cheerleaders to raise much needed funds.

A bake sale is easy to put together and with a little effort, you can turn yours into a successful event. The basic idea is that all cheerleaders on the squad bring homemade baked goods that are sold to the community. There are various ways you can bring some extra excitement to your event. One way to do this is by adding a cake walk. This is similar to musical chairs. The person standing on the winning square when the music stops wins a free cake. You can simply sell cake raffle tickets for $1 each. One benefit to the participant is that you don’t have to be present to win. You can sell the tickets in advance. This can be very fun for the people waiting for their raffle ticket number to be drawed. And of course, while they are waiting, you can have silent auction bids on other mouth-watering baked goods, gift certificates, and other donated items. You could also invite local chefs there to prepare goodies for customers to taste. They can garnish the goodies in the school color.

Besides the silent auction mentioned, there are a lots of ways to increase profits. You can sell raffle tickets to all attendees or include them as part of an admission fee. Even $1 a head can in truth add up. Raffle prizes can be goods or services donated by local businesses, premium baked goods, or even a new 8G iPod. Any event that attracts a large crowd should always include several ways to raise funds and your cheerleading fundraising is no exception. Consider other related items that you can auction off or can sell at a good mark-up. You don’t have to purchase these items or services, you can have them donated. Exposure will greatly increase attendance at your cheerleading fundraiser, so be sure to endorse it with posters, flyers, roadside signs and of course word of mouth. If you have a school newsletter be sure to make use of it.

With a little effort, your cheer squad will soon have the uniforms and cheer supplies needed to leave a lasting impression. Nonetheless, the most essential thing to consider is that no mater what fundraiser you pick be certain to keep your group motivated and remember to have Fun!
